A Need to Act

Brain disease and conditions come in many different forms and go by many different names. They affect the lives of 1 in 6 people and cost over a trillion dollars in annual treatment.

A deeper dive estimates 6.2 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's dementia in 2021. Additionally, Parkinson's Disease affects 1 million people in the United States and 6 million people worldwide.

Although the prevalence and incidence are already significant, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are predicting the burden of brain disease and related dementias to double by 2060, resulting in a startling 14 million Americans being affected, with a larger increase among minority groups.
